In the Garden Scentscape has been designed to stimulate memories of those rare but special sunny afternoons spent relaxing in the garden. The smells of freshly cut grass and various flowers will give great comfort and engagement to any nature enthusiast, while the sound recordings breathe the familiar notes of birds chirping and twigs underfoot.
How It Works
Active Minds noticed that later into a person’s journey with dementia, certain activities which may have been both important to a routine and comforting become less accessible.
Scentscapes are designed to offer both the sound and scents of various popular experiences. Our research showed these to be powerful tools to help transport people to a time or place, stimulating memories and conversation and helping to access memories that would otherwise have been difficult to reach.
Each Scentscape comes with four scents, four smelling jars and a 30min CD with specific sounds of a particular theme. Each CD is split into 4 different sections which relate to the four different scents. A great product to use in a group or one to one.
